'People are fearful' - the reasons 'juggernaut' Arsenal have become the team to beat.

It's obvious why Arsenal stand as countless pundits' preferred choice to win the Premier League in the current campaign.

Examine their performances against West Ham and Crystal Palace compared to those identical matches last season.

The Gunners have overcome all of them in the current season, but surrendered 10 points across those games as they dropped off in the title race in the prior campaign.

Defensive Prowess

Arsenal's backline resilience is a primary factor why they are seeming ready to finally fulfil their title ambition.

They lead the league for shutouts (6), goals allowed (3), attempts against (72), shots on target faced (19) and expected goals against (5.3).

The center-back duo of Gabriel and William Saliba is potentially the strongest in the league, with Arsenal maintaining a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Dead-Ball Excellence

Their danger from dead balls is widely recognized, but rival sides still don't know how to stop the Gunners from these opportunities.

They have registered 11 times from set-pieces in the league, several additional than any other side, with 69% of their goals coming from these situations.

"Arsenal can do a bit of everything now. The whole team has a fear factor. People are just wary of them and it is great to see."

Title Claims

What is particularly remarkable about Arsenal's commencement to the campaign is they have also played Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United at opposition grounds and Manchester City on home turf - and are still leading by four at the top.

While they maintain victories, their long-standing opponents face difficulties. This marks the first time at this point of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The scrutiny was on boss Mikel Arteta at the beginning, having spent around £250m on eight summer signings in quest of that coveted first title since 2004.

But the investment has so far proven successful in style, with his side among the highest scorers in the league and boasting the strongest defense, despite several injuries.

  • Unbreached games in each of their last three Premier League games
  • Over six hours without conceding a goal
  • Only three goals in 12 games across all competitions

Former players and experts have labeled Arteta's men as a "unstoppable force, looking challenging to stop" with the whole club now performing with confidence and purpose.
